NISMO Performance Centre coming to Australia
Australia’s enthusiasm for Nissan sports cars, particularly the GT-R, has led Nissan Motorsports and Customising Co., Ltd. (NMC) to bring a NISMO Performance Centre to our shores. One of the first of its kind outside of Japan, the upcoming facility will provide enhanced local access to authentic NISMO parts and accessories, along with heritage vehicle support, technical expertise and special customer experiences.

To open later this year at Nissan Ferntree Gully in suburban Melbourne, the first NISMO Performance Centre in Australia will provide a direct link to NISMO’s Omori Factory in Japan, support advanced vehicle restoration programs, and feature factory-certified ‘NISMO Meister’ service technicians backed by NISMO’s global expertise. More centres will be added at other locations across Australia in the future.

“NISMO represents one of the most authentic expressions of Nissan’s passion for performance, innovation and customer excitement,” said Ivan Espinosa, President and CEO, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.
“As we advance our long-term vision of mobility intelligence for everyday life, we will continue to deliver new experiences to our customers.
“The expansion of the NISMO brand in markets such as Australia is an important step in bringing exciting experiences to customers who value performance and authenticity.”

Confirmation of the first NISMO Performance Centre for Australia co-incided with a visit by Yutaka Sanada, President and CEO of NMC, and global head of the NISMO brand, who came to Sydney for the GT-R Festival in May.
“NISMO’s global expansion is about bringing the brand closer to customers in the right markets, with the right products, services and experiences,” Sanada said. “Australia is a natural priority because of its mature performance culture, strong GT-R community and clear appetite for authentic NISMO heritage, performance parts, technical expertise and motorsport-driven experiences.”

NMC was formed in 2022 to integrate Nissan’s motorsports (NISMO) division that’s been around since 1984, and the brand’s customisation subsidiary (AUTECH) that was founded in 1986.
Late last year, NISMO revealed plans to grow its restoration, restomod and parts businesses, starting with the Skyline GT-R (R32, R33 and R34), with other vehicles to follow.
